Preparing for colon surgery can be a very stressful time in your life.  Following the instructions after colon cancer surgery can also be stressful but they are necessary if you want to lessen the possibility of a recurrence or prolonged recovery time.  Some of the things that you're going to have to do after your surgery is complete include bed rest, dietary changes and perhaps even exercise after your recovery has advanced to some degree.  If you follow your doctor's instructions, however, you will be less likely to have a recurrence of the disease in the future and your recovery time will be as small as possible.
