Pediatric Shingles
I had always thought that only the elderly could get shingles and that cures for shingles were very common. I know it is more popular in this age group, but anyone over 50 is fairly susceptible to getting shingles as well. I also had not known that children can also get the virus. It is pretty rare, but any child who has had the chicken pox can technically get shingles. When it occurs in children it is called "pediatric shingles". It makes me wonder whether or not I should have had my two children get the chicken pox vaccine. Does this make them more likely to get shingles at a young age?
