Follow the food map religiously when you are dieting

 

No matter what you have to do, follow the food map carefully. You have to learn the GI list very well. Many foods that may look and actually be nutritious are high in GI. For e.g. carrots and beetroot are packed with nutritious values, but are pretty high in the Glycemic Index. However, carrots stay off the list in the south beach diet, coming back into the system in a slower process later, but beetroot is never included. Similarly, sugar and sugar heaped white flour are a stable no-no in the South Beach diet. Having any processed or packaged food with sugar derivatives will also completely defeat the purpose of the efforts you will be putting in this program.
