Three Major Types Of Sleep Apnea
The problem of sleep apnea can affect different people in different ways. There are basically three major types of sleep apnea. They are obstructive, central and mixed sleep apnea. The obstructive sleep apnea causes problems in the airway. It causes the blockage of the airway; therefore the air is not able to enter the lungs. It is usually caused by tonsils, overweight or problems with the anatomy of the jaw. It is the most common type of sleep apnea. The central sleep apnea causes problem with the brain and reduces the drive to breathe. The third type is mixed sleep apnea. It is a combination of both obstructive and central sleep apnea.
